Valters Preimanis is a diving expert and instructor who specializes in scuba diving, technical diving and free diving. He is PADI MSDT, TEC DEEP, EFR, Freediving and PADI Adaptive Techniques specialty training instructor, which means that he can train divers of various levels and specialties, as well as help people with various physical and mental challenges to discover the joy of diving. He has been diving for more than 17 years and has trained hundreds of divers in Latvia and elsewhere in the world.
He, together with his supporters, has also founded the diving club Divings.lv, where he organizes regular diving events and trips. The dive computer displays important information to the diver such as current depth, total and remaining dive time, current and maximum pressure, water temperature, decompression stages and air consumption.
The dive computer also gives the diver recommendations such as when and how long to take decompression stops, what gas mixture to use, and what safety margin to leave. A dive computer is especially useful when a diver is using nitrox, which is a gas mixture that contains a higher percentage of oxygen than normal air, which allows the diver to extend their dive time and reduce the risk of decompression.
