We do professional diving workto obtain soil samples from berth beds in the port water area. In performing the tasks, we have performed soil sampling, both in the water area of Ventspils port and Riga port, at a depth of at least 10 meters. After sampling the soil, the soil samples are taken to a certified laboratory for analysis of various soil samples.
A certified and accredited laboratory determines:
- the type of removable soil;
- soil characteristics - particle size distribution,
- soil density,
- organic matter content;
The concentration of metals (As, Zn, Hg, Cr, Ni, Cd, Pb, Cu) and petroleum hydrocarbons in the samples taken, as well as the particle size distribution of the soil, must be determined. Samples for the determination of soil quality shall be taken and the granulometric composition of the soil shall be determined in accordance with the procedures specified in Cabinet Regulation No. 804 of 25 October 2005 “Regulations on Soil and Soil Quality Standards”.
Determination of the concentration of pollutants in samples must be performed in a laboratory that is accredited in the relevant field and uses the sample preparation and testing methods specified in Paragraph 6 of Cabinet Regulation No. 804 of 25 October 2005 “Regulations on Soil and Soil Quality Standards”. When determining the quality of the soil, mixing of soil samples is not allowed.
