Scuba diving is one of the Latvian underwater sports types. In Latvia, scuba diving is dolphin-style swimming underwater. During the training, the athletes covered about 2 km.
Scuba diving is a sports discipline that aims to cover various distances in the shortest possible time. The rules require the athlete to perform underwater movements, which he performs using his physical strength and fins.
As an underwater sports discipline, it includes the following programs:
• Swimming with fins on the surface of the water with or without breathing through the air tube.
• Swimming with fins under the water surface with scuba diving (underwater swimming).
• Swimming with fins under the water surface with free breathing (scuba diving).
• Relay - a competition in which team members take turns swim individual stages of the distance. • Marathon swimming - swimming with fins over long distances.
We invite Latvian underwater sports veterans or people who know these people to apply. Latvia has a relatively rich experience in the field of underwater sports - our predecessors trained underwater orientation, underwater shooting and in underwater fast swimming. We want to preserve this experience by creating a series of memory stories and also a film about these people - underwater athletes.
Please inform us about known underwater sports veterans in Latvia - to the phone number 220-77-202 (Valters) or to contact form .
