The most visible work of his life is the research, reconstruction and creation of Āraiši Lake Castle into a unique cultural and historical object. In order to explore Āraiši Lake Castle, the level of the lake was lowered by 1 m and dams were built around the excavation sites, but the water flowing into the sites was pumped out with motor pumps. During the works it was revealed that the cultural layer of Āraiši lake castle was up to 2.5 m thick. Remains of wooden buildings and various objects were well preserved under water.
