Underwater shooting
Sport underwater shooting can be classified as triathlon, where each of the three exercises is different, but closely related to each other.
- The first exercise is precision shooting, which consists of three shots for nine shots underwater in each turn. Each approach (series) takes place without interruption, with stopped breathing, with the same weapon, with mandatory swimming above the water between shots. Nine shots should be taken in 10 minutes without distance swimming,
- The second exercise - underwater biathlon - takes nine shots on fixed targets without interruption, performing a diving swim back and forth. Distance between the start line and the finish 10 meters. Exercise is 7 minutes. If the time limit is exceeded, the participant is withdrawn from the exercise and the result is canceled
- The third exercise - relay, where the team has 3 participants. Each takes 3 shots without interruption, performing a diving swim back and forth. Distance between the start line and the finish 10 meters. One of the athletes shoots 3 times in the central center, the other in the upper center, the third in the lower center.
After CMAS underwater shooting, the sport is called Spearfishing.
We invite Latvian underwater sports veterans or people who know these people to apply. Latvia has a relatively rich experience in the field of underwater sports - our predecessors trained underwater orientation, scuba shooting and scuba diving. We want to preserve this experience by creating a series of memory stories and also a film about these people - underwater athletes.
