In the Baltic Sea, Gulf of Finland, with underwater search hardware, with the help of deepwater sonar, found a World War II bombing wreck. The aircraft landed near the Nord Stream Baltic gas pipeline route in the western Gulf of Finland. The aircraft is at a depth of 100 meters, which is five times the depth of 18 meters that can be reached by a sports diver, passing a sports diver certificate.
The length of the aircraft wreck is 11 meters, the width of the wing part - 18 meters. Marine archaeologists point out that this is an American bomber "Douglas DB-7 Boston / A-20 Havoc", which was used during the war. The rare site has been handed over to the State Museum Board, but the exact location of the plane has not been reported.
