Underwater photographer specialty course (Underwater Photographer Specialty Course) is part of PADI underwater training specialties that can be placed by anyone PADI Open Water Diver, PADI Junior Open or a diver of other similar qualifications from the age of 10.
This underwater photographer course is designed to introduce you to the basics of underwater photography to help a diver develop the skills, knowledge and practical techniques needed to work individually with an underwater camera.
Training may be conducted by a PADI Underwater Instructor (or another higher rated PADI Instructor) who is certified as a PADI Underwater Photography Instructor. The maximum number of students that can be trained by one instructor in open water is eight students.
The aim of the PADI Underwater Photographer specialty course is to acquaint divers with the skills, knowledge, planning, organization, procedures, methods, problems, dangers and benefits of underwater photography.
- Demonstrate and explain basic photography principles, composition, including principles for proper exposure and focus, use of flashes and available light in photography, camera-reloading techniques, and use of tripods.
- Select, prepare, care for and maintain underwater photo equipment.
- The composition of the underwater photograph of which it is composed, for color, etc.
