The PADI Enriched Air Diver (EANx) course is open to anyone with a PADI Open Water Diver certification!
Since diving with increased oxygen is getting easier and more popular, the diving club "Daivings.lv" offers to learn the "PADI Enriched Air Diver (EANx)" course.
This course is for those who want to learn to dive with enriched air. Enriched air, also called Nitrox, contains more oxygen and less nitrogen than normal air. This means that a diver can stay underwater longer before developing decompression sickness.
During the course, you will learn all the necessary knowledge and skills to dive safely and confidently with enriched air. You will learn about the types of enriched air, its properties, as well as basic enriched air diving skills.
The course consists of two parts:
- Theory part
- Practical part
Theory part
The theory part is learned remotely using the PADI eLearning platform. In this part you will learn the following topics:
- Types and properties of enriched air
- Enriched air safety
- Enriched Air Dive Planning
Practical part
The practical part is learned in a diving pool and in open water. In this part you will practice all the skills learned in the theory course.
In the pool you will learn the following skills:
- Enriched Air Dive Planning
- Use of enriched air diving devices
- Buoyancy control in enriched air diving
In open water you will learn the following skills:
- Diving with enriched air in different water conditions
- Diving with enriched air using different diving techniques
At the end of the course you will take an exam consisting of a theory and a practical part. If you pass the exam, you will receive a PADI Enriched Air Diver certificate.
The course is suitable for anyone who wants to learn to dive with enriched air. The course has an age limit - the minimum age is 12 years.
The course takes place in the Riga region, at the diving center "Daivings.lv".
The duration of the course is 2-3 days.

What is Enriched Air (EANx)?

How does enriched air work?
Nitrogen is one of the main causes of decompression sickness. When the diver returns to the surface, the nitrogen that has been diluted in his body during the dive dissolves back into the red blood cells.
