Halcyon, in cooperation with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, has announced the recall of approximately 20,300 buoyancy compensators and inflatable devices. Damage to the valves has been found in this batch, which can cause air to leak, which can endanger the diver's life. There is no information yet or any diver has suffered using these buoyancy compensators.
Halcyon, in partnership with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, is recalling the Eclipse, Evolve, Explorer, Pioneer, and CCR35 Buoyancy Compensators (BCDs) manufactured between January 2006 and September 2008. Halcyon inflatable devices are also recalled - lifting bags, marking buoys, signal buoys, inflatable rafts. All recalled equipment is manufactured in the United States and bears the Halcyon logo.
These buoyancy compensators and inflatable devices can cause excessive corrosion or rust problems in stainless steel valves, which can lead to uncontrolled air leakage. Although the manufacturer believes that only some of the units of the recalled equipment are likely to be damaged, given the potentially dangerous consequences, Halcyon encourages all divers who have purchased equipment produced during the specified period to submit it for free inspection if any valves are found during the inspection. problems, damaged parts will be replaced.
Divers who suspect that they own any of these items of equipment are encouraged to contact either the Halcyon website or Halcyon distributors for additional information. Buoyancy compensators can be identified by serial numbers, but inflatable devices do not have a serial number, so they will be tested based on their date of purchase.
If the buoyancy compensator serial number starts with one of the following numbers: 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66, 67, 68, 69, 6A, 6B, 6C, 71, 72, 73, 74, 75, 76, 77, 78, 79, 7A, 7B, 7C, 81, 82, 83, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 89, then they should be handed over to Halcyon for inspection.
Halcyon apologizes to everyone for the inconvenience.
