Amateur underwater sports enthusiasts from Israel found more than 2,000 gold coins on the seabed, the site of the ruins of an ancient port city 1,000 years ago. The ancient ruins are now under water. The gold coins found are in such excellent condition that they were originally considered as game coins by divers.
Gold coins were found under water in excellent condition, they are the same as 1000 years ago. Most of the gold coins found are from Fatimid caliphs Al-Hakim at a time. The ancient ruler who ruled in the 10th century ruled the whole of North Africa.
Underwater archaeologists are interested in the site of the gold coin finds, they are now planning underwater archeological excavations.
