Entrepreneur M. Rozenbergs has been working on the excavation of sunken wrecks for a long time in Ventspils seaside, about 20 km from the shore. At the moment, workers and divers at a depth of 30 m are trying to dismantle a wreck of a German mine trawler that was damaged in World War II.
The wreck is blown up, parts are lifted, dismantled and sent to the Liepaja wire factory. This summer approx. 30 nautical miles from Ventspils at a depth of 44 m was found in 1916. from the sunken wreck of the German light cruiser "Bremen". 2 sunken torpedo boats and 1 aircraft base shipwreck were found nearby. All these German warships were killed in Russian minefields.
These wrecks will not be erected yet, because at a depth of 44 m the work of the diver is very difficult. So that the sea has been calm lately, the blasting of old warships is progressing well, and so far more metal has been extracted.
