DIR as a scuba diving system has resulted in hundreds of expeditions to explore hot caves in the United States, Florida and the Yucatan Peninsula, as well as elsewhere in the world. Although this DIR diving system is good, it has not been able to survive technical diving for quite some time.
The reason for the unpopularity of the DIR system was initially a simple, unnecessarily arrogant attitude and statements from DIR managers towards other systems, such as the TDI SDI.
Other technical diving systems carry diapers and all divers are "Stroke", which means "not very sensible". However, over time, the DIR approach became increasingly popular in technical diving.
