Andris Vanags publishes a new book with an explanatory title - History of Latvian divers. Andris Vanags' book is about Latvian divers, divers and other masters of this profession. Their activities have been considered from the prehistory of Latvia to the present day. The history of Latvia is described in many different publications. But in these extensive works, as it used to be, sometimes the details disappear, sometimes the details are formed, from which this whole group has formed, it is the cultural and historical heritage of Latvia in general.
Over time, historical details or events overlap with dust, eyewitnesses and participants go to eternity, records, if any, are deposited in archive repositories and a void is left. One of the details of this kind of Latvian history (I would like to call it that) is the history of Latvian divers.
Until now, these historical events of divers have never been viewed or studied in Latvia. No materials have been identified and collected in the archives of Latvia or any other countries. Not a single book or other type of literature has been published on this issue, in other words, a white spot in the history of Latvia. Therefore, the purpose of my work was to bring to light one of the brightest, bravest and most eventful pages of Latvian history - the history of Latvian divers.

The book can be requested at: "Jāņa Rozes" bookstores. On the Internet: www.jr.lv.

Author Andris Vanags has previously published several books on diving - Scuba diving with self-contained breathing apparatus and Divers stories.
