Important: This is a “dry” course that does not include divingIts main goal is to provide knowledge and practical advice on the operation and maintenance of equipment.

  1. Theoretical training – PADI eLearning® Equipment Specialist (in English or Russian):

    • Learn at a time and place convenient for you: PADI's interactive online platform allows you to learn theory at your own pace. Materials are available in English or Russian.
    • Comprehensive content: The eLearning program covers in detail:
      • Theory, operating principles and construction of diving equipment:
        • Regulators (first and second stage, octopus, pressure gauge).
        • Buoyancy compensators (BCD) – types, inflators, valves.
        • Diving cylinders – materials, valves, hydrostatic testing.
        • Wetsuits and drysuits – types, materials, zippers, cuffs, valves (for drysuits).
        • Fins, masks, snorkels.
        • Diving computers and instruments.
        • Weight systems.
        • Underwater lights and other accessories.
      • Regular care and maintenance: Recommended procedures before and after each dive, as well as long-term storage recommendations.
      • The most common problems and their solutions: How to recognize common problems and which ones you can fix yourself.
      • The importance of professional service: When to contact a certified technician.
      • Transportation and storage of diving equipment.
    • Important: Although the eLearning theory is in English or Russian, Daivings.lv instructors will provide the necessary consultations, answer questions, and help you consolidate your knowledge in Latvian during the face-to-face lesson, paying special attention to the specifics of equipment specific to Latvian conditions (for example, cold water regulators, dry suits).
  2. Practical workshop and demonstrations (in person, in Latvian):

    • Getting to know the equipment “live”: After learning the theory, a practical lesson will take place at Daivings.lv, where the instructor will demonstrate various types of equipment.
    • Laying on of hands: You will have the opportunity to:
      • Examine the components of the regulator and BCD.
      • Learn how to replace O-rings on a cylinder valve or hoses.
      • Understand how the BCD inflator and valves work and how to maintain them.
      • Learn how to properly assemble and disassemble (the simplest parts) your equipment.
      • Practically try out different equipment maintenance procedures (e.g. rinsing, drying).
      • Learn about specific tools used in equipment maintenance.
    • Discussions and questions: This is a great opportunity to ask the instructor any questions you may have about specific equipment, its operation, maintenance, or potential problems. The instructor will share practical advice and experience.
    • Specifics of Latvian conditions: Special attention will be paid to equipment suitable for diving in Latvian waters, including the nuances of maintaining cold water regulators and dry suits.

Requirements for candidates:

  • PADI (Junior) Scuba Diver certification (or equivalent from another organization).
  • Must be at least 10 years old.
