The Ferex magnetometer is a rugged, fluxgate gradiometer that is very useful for a variety of magnetic purposes. Used around the world in its military spec Mark 26 variant, this instrument is as rugged as it gets and still provides adequate sensitivity for small targets.

Programs include utility locations, pipeline mapping, well location, UST verification, UXO detection, and archaeological projects.

The operating weight of the Ferex is approximately 5kg including (4) D cell batteries which double as a counterweight at the rear of the boom. The shipment weighs only 12 pounds. An additional 30′ cable is available for downhole work.

Ferex console

You can use it on its own with a graphical interface for easy location determination, or connect an external logger (via RS232) for data collection. We have chosen to align Ferex with Juniper Systems' Archer and TrackMaker software for data logging and/or mapping purposes.
