Cressi Quantum, diving and freestyle mask

Description

The main innovation of the Quantum diving mask is that it not only offers improved downward visibility, but also prevents fogging thanks to internal thermoregulation of the warm, moist air escaping from the nose. This air is directed by a membrane system that is built into the mold around the eyes and nose and directs the flow to the silicone skirt instead of the lenses.

The outer part of the mask has a cooling system consisting of two small heat exchangers that act as radiators. The result is that the temperature inside the mask drops as it approaches the outside temperature, trapping moisture droplets before the air reaches the lenses, preventing them from fogging up.

Despite the presence of small internal diaphragms that divert air flow and external heat exchangers, the body of the Quantum mask is still compact and the most advanced design offered on the underwater vision market.

The lenses are not chemically treated and remember that when the mask is new, as with all masks, we recommend cleaning the lenses thoroughly with toothpaste or dishwashing detergent or simply using a lighter to burn off any volatiles. materials and dust that may have accumulated on the glass. Also, it is always useful to use saliva as a surfactant before each dive.

INTERNAL MEMBRANES

– Patented membrane surrounding the inner nose pocket (1) and both inner eye pockets (2) that acts as a barrier and traps moisture that accidentally escapes from the diver's nose while breathing through the mouth. The result is that moisture is not only directed away from the lenses, thus preventing them from fogging up, but also reduces the need for pressure compensation.
To further enhance the anti-dent effect, Cressi recommends that the first time you use a diving mask, you spray some anti-dent solution or put a little saliva on the inside of the lenses and then rinse them with water.

Diving mask cooling

– The outer part of the skirt has a cooling system consisting of two small heat exchangers that act as radiators (3).
Thanks to this system, the temperature inside the mask drops as it approaches the outside temperature, and moisture droplets are intercepted before the air reaches the lenses, preventing them from fogging up.
