Diving regulator service: Why choose original spare parts?

A scuba regulator is your most important life-saving piece of equipment underwater. Just like a car needs regular oil changes, a regulator also needs professional maintenance to keep it working flawlessly, even in extreme conditions.

Why have the service done by professionals?

Many divers make the mistake of postponing maintenance until the first problems appear – air leaks or difficulty breathing. However preventive service is the only way to guarantee safety.

Main benefits:

  • Maximum safety: Eliminates the risk of sudden equipment failure underwater.

  • Easier breathing: A precisely tuned mechanism reduces effort during inhalation.

  • Longevity: Regular cleaning of salt and limescale deposits protects metal parts from corrosion.

The importance of original spare parts

In our service we use only original manufacturer (OEM) service kitsWhy is this important?

  1. Material compatibility: Non-original seals (O-rings) may not be suitable for high pressure or specific lubricants, causing rapid wear.

  2. Warranty retention: Using unofficial parts usually voids the manufacturer's warranty.

  3. Accuracy: Each manufacturer (e.g. Apeks, Aqualung, Mares, Scubapro) parts are designed with micron precision specifically for the specific model.

Important: Even if the non-original part visually looks identical, its chemical composition may not meet breathing air safety standards.

How does the service process work?

Our technicians follow a strict protocol to ensure the highest quality:

Stage Description of the operation
1. Diagnostics Initial inspection and intermediate pressure measurements.
2. Dismantling Complete disassembly of the regulator down to the last screw.
3. Ultrasonic cleaning Cleaning parts in a special solution to remove oxidation and deposits.
4. Parts replacement Replacing all gaskets, valves and filters with new (original) ones.
5. Assembly and adjustment Assembly using manufacturer-specified lubricants and torque wrenches.
6. Testing Final pressure test and breathing resistance calibration.

How often should maintenance be performed?

Most manufacturers recommend a full service once a year or every 100 dives (whichever comes first.) Even if you haven't dived for a year, seals can dry out and lose their properties.

Don't leave safety to the last minute! Prepare your equipment for the season in advance and dive with confidence.
