Vivid evidence of this Riga underwater work performer in his <\/span><span class=\"TXT_5 PAR_RIGHT DIVP46\">In 1987, published in exile in Canada, the book of memories &quot;Neptun<\/span><span class=\"TXT_5 PAR_RIGHT DIVP46\">a <\/span><span class=\"TXT_5 PAR_RIGHT DIVP46 hit\">servant&quot; wrote <\/span><span class=\"TXT_5 PAR_RIGHT DIVP46\">well-known diver in Latvia, <\/span><span class=\"TXT_5 PAR_RIGHT DIVP46\">later also an exile painter <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/daivings.lv\/latvijas-udenslidejs-valentins-pavuls\/\">Valentin Paul<\/a><\/em><\/strong> for the accomplished underwater works in his youth <\/span><span class=\"TXT_5 PAR_RIGHT DIVP46\">days, in the early 1930s, Pavuls worked <\/span><span class=\"TXT_5 PAR_RIGHT DIVP46\">in the Lasman company. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Atminas_par_veiktajiem_zemudens_darbiem_jura_un_Daugava\"><\/span>Memories of underwater works in the sea and Daugava<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span class=\"TXT_5 PAR_RIGHT DIVP46\">As Valentin wrote: &quot;Lasmanis was a man from whom a lot could be learned<\/span><span class=\"TXT_5 PAR_RIGHT DIVP46\">know and learn. He, sitting in the boat, with various na<\/span><span class=\"TXT_5 PAR_RIGHT DIVP46\">poked the bottom of the Daugava with hooks, hooks and hooks and pulled <\/span><span class=\"TXT_5 PAR_RIGHT DIVP46\">out everything you could touch. To try to do it from the top!\u201d<\/em>. L<\/span><span class=\"TXT_5 PAR_RIGHT DIVP46\">Asman&#039;s implements were various kegs of sunken goods <\/span><span class=\"TXT_5 PAR_RIGHT DIVP46\">for feeling and special claws, the so-called &quot;claws&quot;, with which <\/span><span class=\"TXT_5 PAR_RIGHT DIVP46\">grabbed the drowned property and brought out the sunken. By all accounts, \u201cclaws\u201d <\/span><span class=\"TXT_0 PAR_BLOCK DIVP47\">could resemble those of Lasmani&#039;s fellow rafters from<\/span><span class=\"TXT_0 PAR_BLOCK DIVP47\">inherited by cleaning the Daugava river bed from dangerous to navigation <\/span><span class=\"TXT_0 PAR_BLOCK DIVP47\">stones. In his memoirs, Valentin Pavuls writes that <\/span><span class=\"TXT_0 PAR_BLOCK DIVP47\">Lasmani&#039;s yard was full of some<\/span><span class=\"TXT_0 PAR_BLOCK DIVP47\">for those scraps caught, but in their own <\/span><span class=\"TXT_0 PAR_BLOCK DIVP47\">he never let anyone at home and <\/span><span class=\"TXT_0 PAR_BLOCK DIVP47\">never told anything about himself either.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Zemudens_vertibas_Latvijas_udenos\"><\/span><span class=\"TXT_0 PAR_BLOCK DIVP47\">Underwater values in Latvian waters<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span class=\"TXT_0 PAR_BLOCK DIVP47\">In the early 1930s, Lasmanis&#039; specific talents began to be noticed <\/span><span class=\"TXT_0 PAR_BLOCK DIVP47\">journalists who wrote that they were lifting a sunken object<\/span><span class=\"TXT_0 PAR_BLOCK DIVP47\">he has been doing this since the beginning of the 20th century. I<\/span><span class=\"TXT_0 PAR_BLOCK DIVP47\">this connoisseur of the depths of the Daugava pays attention&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"TXT_0 PAR_BLOCK DIVP47\">earned right around 1930 and the following years, when he undertook&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"TXT_0 PAR_BLOCK DIVP47\">clean the water area of the Port of Riga from explosives <\/span><span class=\"TXT_0 PAR_BLOCK DIVP47\">items: all kinds of ammunition, artillery shells, <\/span><span class=\"TXT_0 PAR_RIGHT DIVP47\">for coils of barbed wire and other military devices, which from os<\/span><span class=\"TXT_0 PAR_RIGHT DIVP47\">it was put into storage there in September 1917<\/span><span class=\"TXT_0 PAR_RIGHT DIVP47\">in kumas, for the demoralized by the revolution <strong><em>Russian army fleeing <\/em><\/strong><\/span><span class=\"TXT_0 PAR_RIGHT DIVP47\">from the German-threatened Riga. That <\/span><span class=\"TXT_3 PAR_LEFT DIVP47\">most are so deeply embedded in the rock that only visible <\/span><span class=\"TXT_3 PAR_LEFT DIVP47\">small hills. The lightest ones weigh only two kilograms<\/span><span class=\"TXT_3 PAR_LEFT DIVP47\">us.
